about

Zelda Cheatle has worked with Paul Wenham Clark ,Course Leader in Photography at AUB for several years.

Paul’s own research presents a photographic hybridisation between advertising and documentary; allowing movement between observation, interpretation and construction. He has encouraged, nurtured and developed a course of both part time and full time students whose practice is a diverse as the students themselves.

Through portfolio reviews with Pauls' students over the years, appreciating how both Paul and AUB combined have continued the strong tradition of photography that Bournemouth Arts University is renowned for, has led to a strong ongoing relationship with Zelda Cheatle.

In 2021, AUB awarded the Honorary Fellowship to Zelda Cheatle.

DEAN, PROFESSOR Paul Gough, wrote;

“Thank you so much for the filmed Address you gave for our graduation event last week.

Your words reached over 250 students in the Pavilion, 500 of their guests, parents and friends a few hundred metres away via a live stream, and over 1000 people joining us online from over 25 countries.

It was an extraordinary occasion, carried out safely and securely within the government’s guidance and rapturously received by all who were there. Your contribution, notably about the need to be patient,yet persistent, and to never give up. Your own life story and your many successes in photography spoke so eloquently about those topics.”
